Community Forum Terms

Last updated:

These terms apply to content posted in the Unknown Tales community forum. They are separate from the Terms of Use and Content Licence that govern story content on the main platform.

Your account

The community forum uses Discourse Connect (single sign-on). You log in with your Unknown Tales account. There is no separate forum account to create or manage. All of the main site’s terms, including the acceptable use rules, apply in the forum.

Copyright

You retain full copyright over all posts, replies, and other content you submit to the forum. Posting does not transfer ownership to Unknown Tales or to any other user.

Licence to display and host

By posting you grant Unknown Tales a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce, and host your content as part of the forum. This licence exists solely to operate the platform and does not extend to third parties.

Unlike story content on the main site, forum posts are not subject to Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0. Other members may quote your posts in the normal course of discussion, but no copyleft requirement applies to their replies.

Acceptable use

The same acceptable use rules that apply to the main platform apply here; see our Community Guidelines for the full list. We reserve the right to remove any post or suspend any account that breaches these terms.

Account closure

Closing your Unknown Tales account locks your forum access automatically. There is no separate forum closure step. Your username is retained on your existing posts so that attribution remains intact. No other personal data associated with your forum use is kept after closure.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change we will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the forum after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
