Community Server Terms

Unknown Tales runs a community space on Discord. It is a separate, independently hosted service — these terms only cover how it relates to the main Unknown Tales platform. Your use of Discord itself is governed by Discord's own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Your account

Joining the Discord server uses your own Discord account. There is no sign-on between Unknown Tales and Discord, and no Unknown Tales account data (your email, password, or profile) is shared with or accessible to Discord.

Content you post

You retain full ownership of anything you post in the Discord server. Posting there does not transfer any rights to Unknown Tales, and none of the Creative Commons licensing that applies to story content on the main platform extends to Discord messages.

Acceptable use

The same acceptable use rules that apply to the main platform apply in the Discord server; see our Community Guidelines for the full list. We reserve the right to remove any message or remove any member who breaches these terms, separately from any moderation action Discord itself may take.

Account closure

Closing your Unknown Tales account has no effect on your Discord membership — the two are not linked. If you want to leave the community space, you can leave the Discord server directly.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change we will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued participation in the Discord server after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
